“Taste Our Love For Hawai’i” has been nominated for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences 53rd Annual Northern California Area Emmy® Awards for Episode 4: Kalo Journey in the Lifestyle – News or Long Form Content category. This nomination follows last year’s success, where the “Taste Our Love for Hawai‘i” series received two coveted Telly Awards—a Silver Telly for Television-Series: Cultural and a Bronze Telly for Television-Series: Food & Beverage.

EPISODE 4: Kalo Journey follows five talented chefs from across the country on a once-in-a-lifetime exploration of kalo (taro)—learning about kalo’s important connection to community, culture and aina and reimagining this everyday food source for creative culinary uses. Guided by Earl Kawaa, Chefs Bonny Davis, Ben Ford, Michael Ginor, Dean James Max and Jason Peel spent time with kalo farmers on Oahu & Kauai—working in the loi and learning how to clean, cook and prepare kalo the traditional way—to inspire their own innovative kalo dishes.
